Boca de Tomatlan is a quiet, authentic Mexican fishing village, away from the crowds of Puerto Vallarta. The apartment sits on the quiet side of the river, with the beach, pier, and several inexpensive restaurants and taco stands a short walk away. Three small grocery stores nearby stock essentials for self-catering. The hiking trail to beaches such as Colomitos, Animas and Yelapa starts directly outside the property. Puerto Vallarta International Airport is about one hour away, and downtown Puerto Vallarta is 25 minutes away; frequent buses run every 10 minutes from the main road, and taxis or Ubers are also available. The nearest parking is in a large public lot across the river, reached via a pedestrian bridge.

The apartments are bungalow-style units with a warm, artistic atmosphere - original artwork, handmade decor and colourful textiles are throughout. Each apartment has air conditioning (effective), a private bathroom with a walk-in shower, and a fully equipped kitchenette with a stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, blender, coffee maker, cookware, utensils, and basic spices and oils. The larger apartments include a washing machine and dryer. Outdoor living extends to private balconies or terraces with garden furniture and views of the garden, river or mountains. The smallest unit (Jungle Hideaway #1) is compact but comfortable; others offer a separate dining area and more space. Rooms are very quiet, and the open-air common areas have sofas and hammocks. Some apartments have a loft bed that children enjoy. The garden is meticulously maintained with lush plants, flowers, and decorative pottery and fountains.

Common areas include a covered terrace with sofas and a hammock. The beach is a 4-minute walk away and is very quiet, often almost empty. Water sports such as snorkelling, diving, and fishing are available off-site at additional cost. Hiking is free and the trail to Colomitos, Animas and Yelapa starts at the front door. Board games and puzzles are available for family entertainment. Use of the washing machine and dryer is free.
