The hotel sits in a historic, quieter area of Glasgow's east end, directly across from the cathedral and the Necropolis - many walking tours end here. The city centre, including shops and attractions, is within a 15-minute walk, and Queen Street Station (with trains to Oban) is approximately 10 minutes downhill on foot. For airport transfers, the inexpensive shuttle bus 500 drops you at George Square, a 10-minute walk away. The Duke Street car park is a 5-minute walk for those arriving by car. The surrounding area feels safe, peaceful, and offers several nearby points of interest including Drygate Brewing Co (0.5 km) and a variety of dining options.

Each room includes a private bathroom (modern with monsoon shower; only Room 7 has a free-standing bath), a flat-screen TV, electric kettle with tea and coffee facilities, free toiletries, and carpeted floors. It is open for lunch and dinner Wednesday-Saturday (12:00-22:00) and Sunday (12:00-18:00). The restaurant is very popular and can be busy, so booking in advance is strongly recommended. A continental breakfast (available for an additional charge of 15 GBP, or included in some rates) features homemade sourdough toast, fresh fruit, granola, yoghurt, and excellent coffee, and can be delivered to your room on a tray. Fruits, snacks, and drinks are also provided in the room's mini fridge free of charge. Kids' meals and wine/champagne are available for an additional charge.

On-site leisure facilities are limited - there is no gym, spa, or swimming pool.
