Civic Center BART Station is a 10-minute walk, connecting to the airport and downtown. The Powell-Hyde cable car lines are about 15 minutes on foot. For groceries, Trader Joe's is 3-4 minutes away. The immediate area is safe and walkable, though routes to the Tenderloin may pass through areas with a higher presence of homeless individuals - using Waymo or a ride-share is a common alternative for evening trips into the centre. Street parking is free after 1 AM, and the hotel's own paid garage is a 1-minute walk.

The property offers a range of room types, from standard studios to Superior and Junior suites. Studio rooms include a private bathroom, flat-screen TV, microwave, and mini-fridge. Superior Suites add a separate living area, a non-convertible sofa, and a second full bathroom - ideal for families or groups. The hotel is a 7-floor building with an elevator; some rooms have been recently renovated and feature updated furniture and window shades.

The immediate Hayes Valley area is packed with dining options within a 0.5 km radius, including Absinthe Brasserie & Bar, Robin, Monsieur Benjamin, and Little Gem, alongside casual spots like Urban Bowls and DragonEats. A boulangerie for breakfast pastries is a 2-minute walk. For late arrivals, street parking right in front is often available after 1 AM. The entrance is secured by keycard after nightfall, and the neighbourhood is felt to be very safe.
