CHE PLAYA HOSTEL & BAR ADULTS ONLY, Playa del Carmen

The hostel sits just off Fifth Avenue, the main pedestrian strip lined with restaurants, bars, and shops. The beach is a 7-minute walk away. Both ADO bus stations are within a few blocks, making airport transfers easy (90-minute bus ride). There is no parking on site, so walking, cycling, or using public transport is the norm. The surrounding area is safe and lively, with nightlife continuing until late. Cancún International Airport is 90 minutes by car or bus.

Dormitories sleep 4 to 12 people and include lockers (bring your own lock), privacy curtains, and linen. Air conditioning is available but typically activated only from late afternoon. Shared bathrooms may have limited capacity (one toilet per 12 guests). Private rooms (double/triple) come with a private bathroom, shower, and access to the rooftop pool. Rooms are compact and some have windows facing interior walls, resulting in limited natural light. The main drawback is noise from the rooftop bar, which can be heard in rooms directly below until midnight. Some private rooms include a balcony or terrace.

The hostel offers special themed dinners most evenings - all-you-can-eat pizza, barbecue, or tacos - at an additional charge. A bar on the rooftop serves drinks and light snacks from 5pm to midnight; the bar is open to the public. For self-catering, there is a fully equipped shared kitchen with free coffee and tea. Free filtered water is available. Many restaurants are within a 5-minute walk along Fifth Avenue.

The outdoor infinity pool is on the rooftop, sun terrace with loungers, and a pool bar. The pool is open year-round. Free activities include happy hour, karaoke, live music performances, live sports broadcasts, pub crawls, and tours/classes about local culture. Themed dinner nights and off-site diving/snorkelling are available for a fee. A solarium and public bath are also on site.

Wi-Fi is free and strong; a coworking space with faster fibre internet is available. Luggage storage is free for before check-in/after check-out. Lockers are large but require your own padlock. The shared kitchen is fully equipped and includes free coffee, tea, and filtered water. A business centre with free access, and a vending machine for drinks. Daily housekeeping is included but may need to be requested for room cleaning. Pets are allowed by request (extra charge). No parking. Safety features: 24-hour security, CCTV throughout, smoke alarms.
