CLARION INN SILICON VALLEY, San Jose

The hotel is 12 km from SAP Center and 24 km from Mineta San Jose International Airport. The surrounding area has been associated with safety concerns, particularly at night; parking lot lighting is adequate but avoid leaving valuables in the car. El Rancho Steak House is 0.5 km away, and a shopping centre with restaurants is within a few blocks. Ample free parking on site eliminates the need for street parking.

Each guest room is air-conditioned with a flat-screen cable TV, ironing facilities, and a private bathroom with walk-in shower and hairdryer. The carpeted floors and overall décor are dated. Some rooms have experienced maintenance issues such as broken outlets, noisy air conditioning, mold in bathrooms, and occasional pests. Noise from adjacent rooms and the highway can be noticeable; rooms away from the road are quieter. No rooms have balconies. Towels are thick, and linens are clean, but thorough inspection upon arrival is recommended.

Breakfast is included in the rate and typically offers scrambled eggs, sausages, waffles, cereal, yogurt, fruit, toast, and beverages. On some mornings the selection is limited to a grab-and-go bag. The breakfast room is in a separate building accessed outdoors. For other meals, El Rancho Steak House is a 5-minute walk away, and a shopping centre with multiple chain restaurants is a short drive. No other dining facilities are on site.

The outdoor swimming pool and hot tub are open seasonally, typically from May through late summer. The fitness centre operates from 6:00 to 22:00 and contains a treadmill and a weight machine (the weight machine has been noted as unsafe). No spa or additional wellness facilities are on site. The pool area is generally clean, but the hot tub may experience heating issues.
