COMFORT INN SANTA MONICA - WEST LOS ANGELES, Santa Monica

The hotel sits on Santa Monica Boulevard, 4 km from the Santa Monica Pier and a short drive from Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, and Venice Beach. Public transport is immediately accessible: a bus stop right outside connects to the beach, Third Street Promenade, and the E-Line light-rail station within a few blocks. Several fast-food outlets, pizza places, and a Starbucks are within 0.3-0.5 km, and full-service restaurants are a short walk along Wilshire Boulevard. The neighbourhood is a mix of commercial and residential and can feel busy during the day; some areas may feel less secure after dark, especially around the parking lot. The hotel is not within walking distance of the Hop-On Hop-Off tour bus stops - those are downtown Santa Monica. A car is needed for attractions such as Universal Studios, Hollywood, and The Getty Center, though the bus route handles central Santa Monica easily.

Accommodation includes double, twin, triple, and family rooms (2 beds or up to 5 persons). All rooms have air conditioning, a tea/coffee maker, safe, hair dryer, iron/ironing board, and a flat-screen cable TV with HBO. Microwaves and refrigerators are standard. Bathrooms are private (no shared ones). Many rooms face an interior courtyard, which is quieter than street-facing rooms. Room condition varies: some are spacious and clean with comfortable beds, while others feel dated with older carpets, worn bathroom fixtures, or musty smells. Light sleepers should request a courtyard room; street-facing rooms pick up traffic and siren noise. Some rooms have poor ventilation or cannot open windows. There are no adjoining rooms, no balconies, and no kitchenettes. A free folding baby crib is available on request. ADA rooms with a roll-in shower are subject to availability; contact the hotel in advance.

Breakfast is included in the room rate and served in a compact dining room. The buffet includes make-your-own waffles (regular and cinnamon), scrambled eggs, bacon or ham, toast, cinnamon rolls, cereal, yogurt, fresh fruit (bananas and oranges), coffee, juice, and apples. The space has only five to six tables, so it can fill quickly during peak hours (8:00-9:30 AM). Breakfast is continental style with limited hot items; some guests find the selection basic. The breakfast room is not available for renovations or construction at times - check ahead. The hotel has no on-site restaurant, bar, or room service. Several fast-food restaurants (McDonald's, Vito's Pizza, Subway) are within a block, and a variety of full-service restaurants (Thai, Indian, American diner) are a short walk along Wilshire or Santa Monica Boulevard. The breakfast area also has vending machines for drinks and snacks.

The outdoor swimming pool is heated and open all year from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM. It sits in the interior courtyard, providing a secure, gated environment. The pool area has sun loungers, beach chairs, and towels. The depth includes a deeper section, making it suitable for both children and adults. The courtyard also features patio furniture and umbrellas where guests can sit. During construction periods (morning to early evening), noise and debris have affected pool use - confirm current conditions if the pool is central to your stay. There is no fitness centre, spa, or wellness facilities on site. A public laundromat is nearby, but no hotel laundry service is available.
