COMFORT INN & SUITES FORT MYERS AIRPORT, Gateway

The hotel is a practical choice for airport transit and I-75 road access. It is located 5 km from Southwest Florida International Airport and about 31 km from Sanibel Island attractions. Nearby dining options include Subway at 0.5 km, as well as a Cracker Barrel and other restaurants within a short walk. Two gas stations and a CVS pharmacy are also within walking distance for last-minute supplies. The location is on a quiet street with easy freeway access, though some find the entrance difficult to spot at night.

Rooms are notably large and comfortable, with genuine legroom and storage space. Each includes air conditioning, a private bathroom with a bathtub and hairdryer, a tea and coffee maker, a work desk, a seating area, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, ironing facilities, and heating. Family rooms offer two double beds plus a sofa bed, and a microwave, mini-refrigerator, and coffee facilities are standard. While the bedding is soft and generally comfortable, some mattresses are described as firm. A few rooms may develop a musty or damp odor, and some are showing signs of age, such as older carpet and decor. The interior is generally quiet, but noise from groups can travel, especially on lower floors.

The indoor heated swimming pool is a central leisure feature, open daily from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM and kept clean with towels provided. The pool area can be noisy due to acoustics. The free fitness centre is equipped for a standard workout. Both are available at no extra charge.

The hotel provides a free airport shuttle that runs from 4:30 AM to 10:00 PM; after that, guests must arrange their own transport. Free public parking is available on site with no reservation needed. The 24-hour front desk can assist with check-in, shuttle scheduling, and luggage storage. A business centre offers free wired internet and fax/photocopying. Meeting/banquet facilities are available for an additional charge. Guest laundry facilities are available. Wi-Fi in the rooms is not consistently reliable; wired internet in the business centre is a stable alternative. The front desk uses a plexiglass barrier, and key cards occasionally need reprogramming.
