COMFORT INN UNIVERSITY DURHAM - CHAPEL HILL, Durham

Accommodation includes King Suites with a door separating the bedroom from the living area, a spa bath (garden tub with jets), and a sofa bed-ideal for families or those wanting extra privacy. Family rooms and quadruple rooms are available, many with a pool view, and all rooms feature a microwave, refrigerator, tea/coffee maker, iron, flat-screen cable TV (with HBO), and air conditioning. Some rooms have been recently renovated and are described as clean and comfortable, though the quality can vary by room. Bathrooms in standard rooms are notably small, with tight space around the toilet and shower. The property is older and some rooms show wear (dated furnishings, stained carpets, musty odors), but well-maintained suites are reported as spacious and functional. No guest rooms have windows that open or balconies. The elevator may stop abruptly, which is a minor mobility consideration.

The seasonal outdoor swimming pool is open until mid-October and features a fence around the pool, loungers, pool/beach towels, and tables and chairs on the sun deck. The pool is a shared facility and not private, but is reported as pleasant and well-maintained. The free fitness centre includes modern equipment and separate locker rooms, providing a practical option for maintaining a workout routine. There is no spa or wellness centre on site. The hotel also offers a kid-friendly buffet during breakfast, making it a family-suitable choice for short stays.
