CONDI HOTEL, Hamburg

The hotel sits in a very peaceful residential neighbourhood, making it a good choice for airport layovers or those wanting a calm base away from the city noise. The nearest bus stop is a 7-minute walk away, linking to the U1 underground line for central Hamburg and the main railway station. An Italian, a Greek, and an Asian buffet are within a 4-12 minute walk, and a shopping centre is less than 5 minutes away by foot. For those driving, free on-site parking is available and street parking is also easy to find. Inner Alster Lake and Hamburg Fair are roughly 12-13 km away, while boating activities are possible in the surrounding area.

Rooms are notably large and come with a work desk, flat-screen TV with cable channels, wardrobe, carpeted flooring, and heating. Most units have a private bathroom with a bath and shower; some reviews note the bathrooms are compact. The style is firmly retro - described as having the charm of the 70s and 80s, with sturdy furniture and parquet floors in places. Garden-view rooms are especially quiet and allow windows to be opened, while road-facing units may pick up some indoor noise from other rooms. Single rooms contain a single bed; double rooms offer two single beds or a spacious double with a seating area and balcony. The property is older and shows some wear, but is maintained clean. A lift serves upper floors, though a step at ground level exists between sections.

The breakfast is widely considered the hotel's highlight: a continental buffet with bread, pastries, cold cuts, cheese, fresh fruit salad, juices, yogurt, and hot drinks including speciality coffee. The buffet costs 15 EUR per person and is served in the charming on-site café / bakery next door. Gluten-free requests have been accommodated. No lunch or dinner service is provided, but the neighbourhood offers an Italian, Greek, and Asian buffet within a 4-12 minute walk, plus other restaurants a short drive away.

The hotel offers a sun terrace with outdoor furniture and a garden area where guests can sit and unwind. For more active leisure, canoeing, cooking classes, tennis, and golf (within 3 km) are available off-site at an additional charge. The surrounding area also provides boating opportunities. There is no on-site spa, pool, gym, or sauna.

The property includes a shared lounge / TV area, a coffee shop on site (which doubles as the breakfast room), a minimarket, and a vending machine for drinks. Business travellers can use fax/photocopying and meeting/banquet facilities for an extra fee. Luggage storage is available free of charge. The reception is staffed during regular hours, and private check-in/out is offered; late check-in can be arranged. An ATM/cash machine is on site. Safety features include fire extinguishers, smoke alarms, key-card access, and a security alarm. The hotel has a lift, though the ground floor has a small step between sections. Pets are not allowed, and the hotel is not fully wheelchair accessible. Parking is free on-site (public, no reservation possible) and street parking is also available. An electric vehicle charging station is a 3-minute walk away. Accepted payment methods: American Express, Visa, EC-Card, MasterCard.
