THE DIXIE HOLLYWOOD, Los Angeles

The hotel sits on vibrant Hollywood Boulevard, placing the Hollywood Walk of Fame (2 km), Griffith Observatory, and the Hollywood Pantages Theatre within easy walking distance. Universal Studios Hollywood is a 7-minute drive away, and the Los Angeles Zoo is a 15-minute drive. The Hollywood-Western Metro Station is just a block away, offering direct public transport access across Los Angeles. A Ralph's supermarket is located directly across the street, and a 24-hour Norm's diner is nearby. The area is busy with foot traffic and some homeless presence; overnight security patrols the property, and walking alone after dark may feel less safe. The hotel is well-suited for travelers who plan to use the metro or drive, as the 101 freeway entrance is just a short drive away.

Room types include double rooms, family rooms, quadruple rooms, and suites, many with pool views. The family suite features a separate bedroom, a living area, and a full kitchen with a refrigerator, dishwasher, and kitchenware. All rooms have parquet floors, heating, a wardrobe, and free toiletries. Some rooms include a work desk and a safe. Bed preference cannot be guaranteed and is allocated at check-in. While rooms are spacious and generally clean, the property is older with worn furniture, chipped paint, and some maintenance issues such as broken door latches or damaged window blinds. The walls are thin, so noise from neighboring rooms and the street is common. Rooms on the upper floor are somewhat quieter. Pillows have plastic covers, and some beds are described as very firm. Complimentary daily housekeeping is provided, and the TV supports streaming services via phone casting.

The hotel's restaurant, Heng Heng, specializes in Thai cuisine and is family-friendly, serving lunch and dinner. The menu includes tender chicken rice with garlicky rice and sauces. Numerous other dining options are within a short walk, including a 24-hour diner directly across the street, a Ralph's supermarket, and various Asian restaurants. Each room is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave for storing and reheating food. Breakfast is not offered, but complimentary coffee and a water refill station are available in the lobby from morning until 12 PM. After midday, coffee costs $2 per cup.

Private parking is available on site for US$25 per day; the lot is secured overnight by a guard but spaces are narrow. The 24-hour front desk can assist with car rental and tours. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the property. Laundry facilities are on site at an additional charge, and daily housekeeping is complimentary. Luggage storage costs $5 per 3 bags and is available before check-in and after check-out. Pets are allowed with a weight limit of 11 kg, a nonrefundable fee of $25 per pet per night, and a refundable $100 deposit; only one pet per room is permitted. A $100 refundable security deposit is required at check-in. The property has non-smoking rooms, air conditioning, heating, facilities for disabled guests, and key card access with CCTV. A minimarket is located on site.
