Dormitory Kinshu is located in the Kinshicho area, about 5 minutes on foot from Kinshicho Station. The station provides direct JR Sobu Line access to Akihabara, Shinjuku, and other key districts. Tokyo Skytree is within walking distance, and Haneda Airport is 25 km away. The neighbourhood is dense with convenience stores, supermarkets, and dozens of restaurants. For solo budget travellers, the location offers excellent value and connectivity.

The dormitory consists of one large room with about 50 capsule beds separated by thin walls that do little to block sound. Bedding is provided but cleanliness has been inconsistent, with reports of bed bugs and stained sheets. Each capsule has a light and two power sockets, but the light plug can block one socket. The room is kept dark with permanent lights-out, but spotlights and illuminated signs remain on. Air conditioning is installed but has been reported as non-functional or manually turned off, making the room uncomfortably hot in summer and cold in winter. Shared bathroom facilities include showers with dressing areas and toilets; cleanliness varies, with frequent reports of odours and lack of maintenance. No secure luggage storage is available beyond 18 small lockers for valuables. Hard mattresses and a high noise level (snoring, talking) mean earplugs are essential for light sleepers.

Dormitory Kinshu does not have a kitchen, restaurant, or breakfast service. There is a shared lounge/TV area but no designated dining space. A refrigerator and microwave are available for guest use. The surrounding area has many restaurants, convenience stores, and supermarkets within a 5-minute walk - ideal for buying and storing food. Because the facility is unmanned, there is no staff to assist with meal arrangements.

The property offers free WiFi throughout, though the connection can be unreliable. A shared lounge/TV area is available. Laundry is free with a washing machine and dryer. Other amenities include a lift, air conditioning (with caveats), heating, refrigerator, microwave, and a vacuum cleaner.
