DRURY INN & SUITES GAINESVILLE, Gainesville

The Drury Inn & Suites Gainesville sits directly off Interstate 75, offering easy highway access in both directions. It is 6 km from Ben Hill Griffin Stadium, 7 km from the University of Florida, and 3 km from the Florida Museum of Natural History. Gainesville Regional Airport is 15 km away. The immediate area is busy with shopping and dining including Waffle House, McDonald's, Arby's, Bento Asian Kitchen & Sushi, and a steakhouse, all within a 5-minute walk. Several fast-food and sit-down restaurants are across the street. However, the location is known for high traffic noise from the interstate and a busy commercial strip, and the surrounding neighborhood can feel unsafe after dark, particularly for pedestrians.

Rooms are described as spacious and clean, with comfortable beds and pillows. All units feature air conditioning, heating, a coffee machine, a wardrobe, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, and free toiletries. Room types range from double rooms to suites with separate living areas and multiple beds. The bathrooms are private with a bath or shower; some suites have walk-in showers and grab rails for accessibility. Higher-floor rooms tend to be quieter. Bed firmness has been described as on the firmer side, which suits short stays but may feel less accommodating for longer visits if you prefer a softer mattress. Interiors are modern and well-maintained, though some carpets show signs of wear. Light sleepers should request a room away from the interstate and elevator to minimize noise.

The hotel offers an outdoor swimming pool, a hot tub, and a fitness centre, all included at no extra charge. The pool has a covered section that provides shade and is often noted as clean and inviting. The hot tub is operational, though some have reported low water pressure in the spa jets. The fitness room is modestly equipped with limited weights and machines-adequate for a basic workout but not for extensive strength training. Both the pool and hot tub are popular with families and are generally available throughout the day.

Free on-site private parking is available without a reservation, though the lot can become crowded. Wi-Fi is free and reliable throughout the hotel. The property has a lift and offers wheelchair-accessible rooms with grab rails and lowered bathroom sinks. A 24-hour front desk assists with check-in and requests. Daily housekeeping is included, but some have noted inconsistency in service. Laundry is available for an additional charge. The business centre is free to use. Pets are allowed with a fee; note that pets are not permitted in elevators or common indoor areas, which can be inconvenient for pet owners with mobility needs. The hotel does not provide a shuttle to the airport or local hospitals.
