EAST SYDNEY HOTEL, Sydney

The hotel is 11 km from Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport, reachable via a 14-minute train to St James station followed by a 10-minute walk (cost approx $21) or a $40 taxi. The Art Gallery of New South Wales is 600 metres away, Circular Quay 2 km. The area is walkable to CBD, Darlinghurst, Surry Hills, with bus stops 2 minutes away. Overnight free street parking may be available nearby but is not guaranteed. The hotel sits on a quiet side street but is near a busy intersection.

All rooms include a refrigerator, work desk, seating area, flat-screen TV, and wardrobe. No rooms have air conditioning; some rooms have a fan. No private bathrooms - three shared bathrooms serve six rooms, but they are kept clean and well-stocked. Room types: Double (1 bed), Twin (2 beds, city views), Triple (fireplace), Quadruple (balcony, city views, 2 beds), Single (fireplace). Some rooms are on the top floor (no lift). Noise can be an issue from street and internal building. The building is historic with antique furniture and carpeted floors. Ironing facilities available.

The restaurant is open daily 12:00-21:30. Menu includes pub classics like steak, schnitzel, fish and chips, and roasts. Kids' meals available (additional charge). Sunday afternoon live jazz is held in the bar. A range of beers on tap and cocktails are available. Children are not allowed in the front bar area. Several nearby cafés and restaurants are within walking distance for breakfast (as hotel does not automatically include breakfast). The bar offers a welcome drink.

Entertainment includes free darts and live music performances, especially Sunday afternoon jazz. Boating can be enjoyed in the surrounding area. No swimming pool or spa facilities are present.

Check-in is from 14:00 to 23:30, check-out until 10:00. Early check-in may be possible (staff on duty from 9am). Luggage storage is offered before check-in and after checkout; bags can be held for a few days. Laundry facilities (washing machine) available. No lift - rooms are on upper floors. Pets not allowed.
