FAIRFIELD INN & SUITES BY MARRIOTT SAN JOSE NORTH/SILICON VALLEY, San Jose

The hotel sits in a quiet business park district near corporate offices, with easy access to Highway 101. Levi's Stadium is 3 km (2 km) away, a comfortable walk along safe sidewalks. Norman Y. Mineta San Jose International Airport is 8 km (8 km) away; the hotel is also close to California's Great America theme park and Shoreline Amphitheatre (12 km). The surrounding area is car-dependent for groceries and dining, though a few restaurants are within a 20-minute walk. A scenic walking and cycling trail runs behind the property with mountain views, and the San Francisco Bay is visible from upper rooms. The hotel also offers free off-site private parking and on-site EV charging.

Rooms are carpeted with tiled bathrooms and include a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a Keurig coffee maker, microwave, mini-fridge, and wardrobe. Bedding options are two queen beds or one king bed. The in-room air conditioning can be finicky to set - some units may blow warm air - so test it promptly and request maintenance if needed. The shower pressure has mixed feedback; some find it low, others excellent. Rooms facing the parking lot or road may hear train noise, but upper-floor rooms with a bay or water view are consistently quieter. The heating/cooling unit is nearly silent, which some light sleepers appreciate. Housekeeping can be inconsistent; for longer stays, you may need to request service at the front desk. The rooms are well-suited for business travellers and families, with ample space for luggage and a small work area.

Breakfast is included and features a rotating menu of scrambled eggs, sausages, biscuits and gravy, pancakes, waffles, fresh fruit, yoghurt, oatmeal, pastries, and a hot chocolate station. The selection is consistently rated as above average for a free hotel breakfast, with fresh produce and hot items replenished regularly. Breakfast runs from 06:30. For lunch and dinner, the on-site bar and bistro serves American cuisine including burgers, salads, and cocktails. The bistro operates from 17:00 to 22:00, but service can be slow during busy periods. There is no room service, though guests can order takeout from the bistro and eat in their room. The lobby also has a mini-market with snacks and drinks, and a snack bar is available for lighter options. A variety of nearby restaurants are within a 20-minute drive for those wanting more evening choices.

The saltwater pool is open daily from 06:00-21:00, though it is not heated - expect a brisk swim, especially outside summer. The hot tub is available year-round and can get quite hot, making it a popular spot after games or workouts. Around the pool are sun loungers and umbrellas. The fitness centre is open 24 hours and is well-equipped with Peloton bikes, a large cable machine, free weights, and floor-to-ceiling windows. Outdoor leisure includes a full-sized basketball/volleyball court, a putting green, and a picnic area with BBQ grills and a fire pit. The property also has a scenic walking trail starting right behind the hotel, perfect for runners or strolls with mountain views. These facilities are well suited for families and groups attending events, and are generally well-maintained and clean.

Wi-Fi is free and reliable in all rooms. Parking is free and ample, including 10-22 electric vehicle charging stations; no reservation is needed. The 24-hour front desk offers key card access, safety deposit boxes, and an ATM on site. Laundry and dry cleaning are available for an additional charge. A business centre with meeting/banquet facilities is also available. Pets are allowed - up to two pets per room (each 23 kg or less) with a one-time cleaning fee of $75-$100. A designated smoking area is located outside the front of the hotel. The property is accessible for wheelchair users, with a lower bathroom sink and lift access. The hotel also features a minimarket on site, and staff are available to assist with luggage storage if needed.
