Hotel Details

Location

A quiet residential area in the Bunkyo ward, directly opposite the University of Tokyo and within a 10-15 minute walk of three metro stations.
The hotel sits in a calm, low-rise neighbourhood right across the street from the University of Tokyo's Yasuda Auditorium, reached in under five minutes via the gingko-tree-lined path. Wadatsumi no Koe Museum is a three-minute walk away, while Kikufuji Hotel Remains is 400 metres from the hotel. Three subway lines are within a 10-13 minute walk: Todai-mae Station (Nanboku line, use West exit for elevator access), Kasuga Station, and Hongo-sanchome Station. Ueno Park is a short stroll away, and Tokyo Dome is about 15 minutes on foot. Haneda Airport is 22 km away; from Narita Airport, a train/bus transfer is required. Many local restaurants, supermarkets, convenience stores (Lawson, FamilyMart, 7-Eleven), and a bus stop to Tokyo Station (less than five minutes away) are all within a short walk, making car-less exploration easy.

Accommodation

Spacious rooms with air conditioning, private bathrooms, and modern amenities; superior double rooms include a small refrigerator.
Room types include double rooms with one bed, spacious doubles, spacious twin rooms with two beds, and family rooms with tatami flooring and two futons. All rooms feature a private bathroom with a bath, shower, hairdryer, slippers, and a bidet. Upper-floor rooms are accessible by one of two lifts. Each room includes a wardrobe, desk and chair, heating, air conditioning, a trouser press, and carpeted floors; superior double rooms offer a small refrigerator. Rooms are notably larger than typical Tokyo standards - enough space to open four medium-sized suitcases and still walk around. The area is very quiet at night, with good sound insulation between rooms. Daily housekeeping keeps the rooms exceptionally clean. Pillows have been noted as firm and may feel uncomfortable for some; requesting an extra quilt or a softer pillow at reception can help. Bedside radios are provided in some rooms, and windows can be opened for fresh air.

Dining

A family-friendly restaurant serving Australian cuisine for breakfast; free coffee and tea are available in the lobby all day.
The on-site restaurant, セルフィーユ, is open for breakfast daily from 07:00 to 09:00. It serves Australian cuisine in a welcoming atmosphere. Breakfast offers both continental and Japanese options - such as rice, miso soup, and grilled fish - and is buffet-style. The breakfast is tasty and the dining room is bright and spacious. If breakfast is not included in your booking, you can pay at reception to add it. For other meals, the surrounding neighbourhood offers many local eateries including ramen, tonkatsu, izakaya, and soba shops within a three-to-five-minute walk. There are also several convenience stores nearby for snacks and drinks. Free coffee (including an espresso machine), tea, and herbal tea are available in the lobby 24 hours a day, which is a welcome bonus for early departures or late arrivals.

Wellness and Leisure

No spa, pool, or fitness facilities on site, but the quiet neighbourhood and nearby parks provide relaxed leisure options.
The hotel does not have a spa, fitness centre, or pool. Leisure time is best spent exploring the peaceful residential area, visiting the nearby University of Tokyo campus and its museums, or taking a short walk to Ueno Park (about 15 minutes) for cherry blossoms, the zoo, and tranquil ponds. The Yanesen area (Yanaka, Nezu, Sendagi) is also within a 15-30 minute walk, offering traditional streets, temples, and artisan shops. The hotel provides free use of an ice machine and a vending machine for drinks on the second floor. For evening relaxation, the free lobby coffee and tea are available around the clock, and the quiet surroundings make for a restful night.

Facilities and Services

Free Wi-Fi, luggage storage, and a self-service laundry room with free washer-dryers; a 24-hour front desk and a lift are also available.
Wi-Fi is free and strong throughout the property, suitable for streaming and remote work. The 24-hour front desk staff speak English and are helpful with route planning, calling taxis, and handling requests. Luggage storage is free before check-in and after check-out, but only within the check-out day. The free laundry room on the second floor contains two combination washer-dryer machines with detergent provided; the dryer cycle takes about four hours, so plan accordingly. A trouser press and ironing board can be borrowed for use in the room. Free toiletries (toothbrushes, razors, combs, etc.) are available for guests to take from the lobby, and free yukata-style pyjamas, slippers, and bathrobes can be picked up on each floor. Free umbrellas are available at the entrance for borrowing during rainy weather. The hotel entrance is barrier-free, there is one accessible restroom, and two lifts reach all floors. For guests arriving by car, on-site private parking costs ¥1000 per day, but a space cannot be reserved. The hotel offers Yamato luggage forwarding service (pay on delivery).
