GELSO, Rome

The hotel sits in a quiet, friendly neighbourhood, 25 km from Rome Ciampino Airport. Bus stops are within a short walk, and the metro is about 15 minutes on foot, making the city centre easily accessible without a car. The area is safe and pleasant for strolling, and nearby dining options include Di Grano in Pasta, Alice e Il Vino, Como' Bistrot, and Pastella Roma Montesacro, all within 0.5 km. The location is particularly suitable for pilgrims following the Via di Francesco, and for travellers wanting a calm base after a day of sightseeing.

The double room includes a private bathroom with bath, shower, bidet, bathrobes, and essential toiletries. Additional features are a private entrance, tea and coffee making facilities (including capsule espresso machine), flat-screen TV with satellite channels, wardrobe, and electric kettle. The parquet flooring and air conditioning contribute to a comfortable stay. While the rooms are spacious and clean, the building is a restored century-old residential property, adding charm but with an apartment-style setup. For light sleepers, rooms facing the inner courtyard are the quietest option.

The hotel does not operate a pool, spa, gym, or leisure centre. The calm neighbourhood itself provides a pleasant setting for morning or evening strolls. For more active leisure, the metro connection offers easy access to Rome's parks, such as Villa Borghese (6 km), and other city attractions.

Internet access is free and reliably fast enough for HD streaming and video calls, thanks to a 40 Mbps connection verified by the host. Services include private check-in and check-out, which makes arrival and departure simpler, and luggage storage is available for early arrivals. The building has a lift, and the entire property is non-smoking with fire extinguishers for safety. No parking is provided, but street parking in the area is described as easy to find. Housekeeping is not daily, but the rooms are thoroughly clean at check-in. The host is notably helpful, even offering to wait for late trains and accommodating special requests like late check-out.
