GIUSI ROOMS - ESQUILINO HARMONY GUESTHOUSE, Rome

The guesthouse occupies the second floor of a central building in Rome, 200 metres from Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica and within an easy 15-minute walk of the Colosseum. The surrounding area is pedestrian-friendly, with many shops, restaurants, and cafés on the same streets. For airport transfers, Termini Station is less than 10 minutes on foot, offering direct trains to Fiumicino and Ciampino airports. The immediate neighbourhood is busy but provides convenient access to all major attractions on foot or via the nearby metro, making a car unnecessary. Street noise can be an issue in rooms facing the road, particularly at night.

Rooms vary in size from compact doubles to larger triples. All are equipped with air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV with streaming services, a minibar, a tea and coffee maker, and a private bathroom with a shower, hairdryer, slippers, and free toiletries. Some rooms offer a quiet street view, while road-facing rooms are more exposed to traffic noise. The decor is simple and functional; the condition of fixtures and cleanliness has been inconsistent, with reports of mould in showers and worn paintwork. For a more comfortable stay, a quiet room away from the street is preferable. Daily housekeeping is available on request and is not automatic.

No breakfast or meal service is offered on-site. The immediate area is well-supplied with eateries: Trattoria Monti, Delizie e Sapori, and several cafés such as Antico Caffe Santamaria and Dolomiti Bar are all within a few hundred metres. The neighbourhood includes a variety of Italian and international options, including a Chinese restaurant (Ren Chinese Restaurant). The proximity to Termini Station also means many more dining choices are available around the clock. For self-catering, rooms include a mini fridge and an electric kettle for hot drinks.

No wellness or leisure facilities are available on-site. However, the central position means major attractions such as the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Trevi Fountain, and Spanish Steps are all within a 15-20 minute walk. The Vittorio Emanuele Metro station provides direct access to the Vatican Museums and other distant areas. The surrounding area is lively, with many bars and cafés for downtime, and Santa Maria Maggiore Basilica is just around the corner.

Internet access is free of charge throughout the building. The property offers a paid airport shuttle (arranged after booking) and taxi pick-up from the airport for €60. Luggage storage is available from 10:00 to 18:00, useful for early arrivals or late departures. Reception services include concierge, express check-in/out, private check-in/out, a tour desk, and lockers. Safety features include CCTV in common areas and outside, key card access, fire extinguishers, and free safety deposit boxes in rooms. A shared lounge/TV area is provided. Daily housekeeping is free but not automatic; it should be requested if needed. There is a designated smoking area on the terrace. No restaurant, spa, or pool is present on-site.
