HAMPTON INN & SUITES PORTER RANCH LOS ANGELES, Los Angeles

The hotel sits directly across from a shopping plaza with Whole Foods, a movie theatre, and numerous dining options within walking distance. The 118 freeway is moments away, making it simple to reach downtown Los Angeles, Universal Studios Hollywood (31 km), and the Getty Center (30 km). Hollywood Burbank Airport is a straight 24 km drive. The neighbourhood is safe and walkable for errands, though a car is recommended for exploring further. Some rooms face the freeway - higher floors provide a quieter environment.

The hotel is newly built and clean. Rooms are spacious with modern furnishings, including a generous walk-in shower in the bathroom. Mattresses are on the softer side, which may not suit everyone, but pillows come in both firm and soft options. Walls transmit some noise from hallways and neighbouring rooms. Road-facing rooms can pick up traffic sounds, so requesting a courtyard-facing or higher-floor room is advisable. A few maintenance issues have been noted (cracked shower tile, non-functional outlets), and no in-room safe is provided. Overall, the accommodation is comfortable and practical for both short and extended stays.

The outdoor swimming pool is open all year and comes with sun loungers and beach umbrellas. Towels and chairs are available upon request from the front desk. The fitness centre is clean and features modern cardio and strength machines - better equipped than many hotels of this class. Both facilities are complimentary for guests.

Wi-Fi is free and reliable. Parking is complimentary but the lot is small; construction next door further reduces overnight availability. The 24-hour front desk offers express check-in/check-out, luggage storage, and printing assistance. Additional amenities include a minimarket, a coffee shop in the lobby, an electric vehicle charging station, and a business centre. Laundry facilities are available (two washers, two dryers) - note that one dryer has been broken for months. Pets are allowed for a $100 fee per stay. The property is wheelchair accessible with a lift. Housekeeping must be requested; it is not automatic.
