HAMPTON INN & SUITES ST. LOUIS AT FOREST PARK, Saint Louis

The hotel faces Forest Park but is separated by Oakland Avenue and Interstate 64, making the park awkward to reach on foot. A pedestrian underpass is 1 km east; a nearby overpass is 0.5 km west but is not recommended during heavy traffic. Driving is the most practical option: the zoo, Science Center, and Art Museum are just minutes away, and downtown St. Louis and the Gateway Arch are within 10 minutes by car. Barnes-Jewish Hospital, Shriners Hospital, and Washington University are also close. While restaurants and shops along Oakland Avenue are walkable, the nearest Metrolink station is 2 km away, so plan to use a ride-share or personal vehicle for transit-dependent trips.

The free breakfast includes hot items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, make-your-own waffles, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, pastries, and beverages. While the variety is good, at busy times food may cool in the chafing dishes and the dining area can become crowded. Coffee is available all day in the lobby. For lunch or dinner, Mac's Local Eats is attached to the hotel and serves whole-animal, pasture-raised burgers, boudin, and scratch-made condiments - a popular choice among families. Comet Coffee (0.5 km) is a great stop for pastries and quiche. Several fast-food chains like Imo's Pizza, Hardee's, and McDonald's are also within a short walk.

The heated indoor pool is a highlight for families, stocked with floaties, paddle boards, rings, and noodles for children. Pool towels are provided at no extra cost. The facility can become crowded during peak periods and school breaks, limiting available space and quiet time. The fitness centre is equipped with cardio and strength-training machines, and access is free for all guests. No spa or hot tub is available on site. For outdoor leisure, Forest Park's attractions, trails, and picnic areas are a short drive away.

Wi-Fi is complimentary throughout the hotel. The 24-hour front desk offers concierge service, express check-in/out, and luggage storage at no charge. An ATM is on site, and safety deposit boxes are free. The business centre provides free fax/photocopying. Meeting and banquet facilities are available for groups up to 35. Dry cleaning is offered for an additional fee. Pets (dogs and cats) are allowed, with a maximum of two per room; the hotel deep cleans after pet stays and can accommodate pet-free room requests. Wheelchair-accessible rooms, accessible parking, and lift access are available. Cots and family rooms are provided. A minimarket is on site for snacks. The property is entirely non-smoking; a fee of up to $250 applies for smoking in a room.
