HI! OSTELLO MILANO, Milan

The hostel is in the San Siro area, a 30-minute walk to San Siro Stadium and close to Ippodromo Snai La Maura. The M1 metro line (red) is a 4-5 minute walk, providing direct access to the Duomo and central Milan. Lampugnano bus station is within walking distance for intercity and airport coaches, and a Malpensa shuttle stops at nearby Piazzale Lotto (5 minutes on foot). Several restaurants and bars are within 0.3-0.5 km, including Pub Sitting Bull and Ristorante Pizzeria del Vento. The immediate area can feel less inviting at night, but the convenient transport links make it a practical base for events or transit.

Private rooms offer tiled floors, a wardrobe, a walk-in shower, and some have a balcony. Family rooms can accommodate 5-6 beds; some have an en-suite bathroom, while others share facilities. Dorms range from 4- to 6-bed configurations. Room features include heating, and some rooms include a tumble dryer. However, the furnishings are basic and dated, and dorm rooms can feel dark as the main light source is often a sliding terrace door, which also has limited privacy. Noise carries easily through the corridors, and door-slamming is common. The building's age means creaky beds and worn bathrooms are frequent issues. Travelers wanting a quiet or modern space should focus on private rooms with en-suite facilities.

The outdoor areas include a garden with a picnic area and BBQ facilities (available for an additional charge), plus a terrace with outdoor furniture and sun umbrellas. There is a shared lounge/TV room with board games and a kids' outdoor play area. Temporary art galleries are free and on site. The property does not have a pool, spa, or gym.

The 24-hour front desk offers concierge service, a safety deposit box, and provides itineraries and local tips. Wi-Fi is free in rooms and common areas, though signal strength can be weak in some dorm rooms. Luggage storage is free and available before check-in or after check-out. Lockers are located in common areas (padlock required). Daily housekeeping and laundry are available for an extra charge. The property has an elevator and accessibility features including wheelchair access, grab rails, and lower sinks. All areas are non-smoking, with a designated smoking area outside. The atmosphere can feel worn and is sometimes used by long-term residents, which may affect the overall vibe for short-stay travellers.
