HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS HOTEL & SUITES JACKSONVILLE-SOUTH BY IHG, Jacksonville

The hotel is conveniently located off Interstate 95, making it straightforward for travellers driving through Jacksonville or commuting to nearby areas. While there are no restaurants on site, Dave & Buster's is within a 5-minute walk, and a range of other dining options including Fresh Mex & Co, Kazu Sushi Burrito, and Cracker Barrel are all within 2 km. The property is 35 km from Jacksonville International Airport. The immediate area is best navigated by car, though the location is well-lit and feels safe.

Each room includes a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer, and free toiletries. Rooms are equipped with a microwave, small refrigerator, tea and coffee facilities, ironing facilities, and a sitting area. Some rooms include a sofa bed, and a wardrobe is provided. The rooms are generally described as spacious and functional, with comfortable beds and good workspace. However, reports indicate that carpet cleanliness and odor can be inconsistent, with some rooms having a musty or damp smell. The air conditioning may produce a mildew odor in some units. Guests with scent sensitivities may want to request a room on a higher floor, as the lobby and first-floor carpets are more frequently noted for odor issues.

The complimentary breakfast offers scrambled eggs, omelets, bacon, pork sausage, turkey sausage, and fresh fruit, as well as baked muffins. The pancake machine is a popular feature and generally works well. While breakfast variety is often praised, selection can diminish close to the 10:00 end time, especially on busier mornings. Guests wanting the fullest choice are advised to arrive earlier. Coffee is available 24 hours in the lobby. There is no restaurant or bar on the property, but numerous dining options are within a short drive.

The outdoor pool is cleaned regularly and is suitable for families. The fitness centre contains cardio equipment, a bench, and dumbbells, adequate for a basic workout. Both facilities are well-regarded when operational, though maintenance work near the pool has been noted to begin early in the morning.

WiFi is free throughout the property. Parking is free but requires a reservation, which should be made in advance to guarantee a spot. The 24-hour front desk staff are generally described as friendly and helpful, though occasional check-in friction has been noted. A business centre with computer and printer is available. Meeting and banquet facilities, laundry, and dry cleaning services are offered. Cots are available for families. The hotel is a non-smoking property and does not allow pets.
