HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS & SUITES HOUSTON SOUTHWEST GALLERIA AREA BY IHG, Houston

The property sits in a quieter area set back from the highway, which generally reduces traffic noise inside rooms. Numerous restaurants are within a 1-kilometre radius, including Shiv Sagar Restaurant and Bijan's Persian Grill, and several more are reachable within three kilometres. While downtown Houston is roughly 20-30 minutes away by car, the immediate surroundings include a shopping outlet and strip malls. Street lighting and general safety around the parking lot have been inconsistent; some visitors have reported break-ins and broken glass on site, so leaving valuables visible inside the vehicle is not advisable.

The breakfast offering is a standard Holiday Inn Express selection that is generally well-regarded for its variety and fresh options, although some have found it limited after consecutive days. The pancake machine has occasionally been out of service. There is no on-site restaurant, bar, or room service, but a snack bar in the lobby provides basic drinks and packaged items. The surrounding area features multiple dining choices within walking distance, such as Bombay Sweets and London Sizzler Tandoori Bar & Grill, plus several fast-food outlets.

The indoor pool is open year-round, though pool towels are provided and the water temperature can be unheated, making it brisk. The fitness centre contains basic equipment, but some machines have been reported to be non-functional. There is no spa, hot tub, or sauna on the property. The outdoor seating area offers a place to sit. A business centre is also available for work-related tasks.

Parking is complimentary and does not require a reservation, though there have been reports of vehicle break-ins in the lot. Wi-Fi is available at no charge but has been described as intermittent or non-functional in some rooms during peak times. Laundry facilities are on site. The 24-hour reception can assist with express check-in/check-out, luggage storage, and requests for a cot or extra towels - though availability of clean towels has occasionally been limited. The elevator has been reported as out of order on several occasions, creating a significant obstacle for guests on upper floors. A one-time $20 refundable incidental fee is charged at check-in.
