HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS & SUITES - CALGARY AIRPORT TRAIL NE BY IHG, Calgary

The hotel sits in an industrial area near the airport, 11 km from the terminal and 11 km from CrossIron Mills shopping centre. Calgary Tower is 18 km away. The free 24-hour airport shuttle provides reliable transfers; for arrivals, the hotel covers a taxi from the airport. The neighbourhood has no nearby grocery stores or convenience shops, but the adjacent hotel offers dinner dining. The location suits overnight layovers, early flights, and car-based trips to city attractions. Highway 2 is conveniently accessible for onward travel.

All rooms feature air conditioning, soundproof walls, a private bathroom with either a walk-in shower or bath, a hairdryer, and free toiletries. Each has a work desk, seating area, flat-screen TV with cable channels (no streaming services), fridge, microwave, and ironing facilities. Suites offer a separate seating area with a sofa and two beds; double rooms come with one queen or king bed. Upper-floor rooms are accessible via lift. While rooms are spacious, some bedding and towel quality have been inconsistent. Noise from hallways can occasionally be an issue; first-floor rooms have been noted as quieter.

Breakfast is included and served weekdays 6:30-9:30 AM, weekends 7:00-10:00 AM. Offerings include eggs, sausages, potatoes, pancakes (made on demand), fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, breads, bagels, and pastries. Coffee and juices are provided. Breakfast can become crowded on busy weekends, so arriving early is advisable. There is no on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner; the closest meal option is at the adjacent hotel, and delivery via apps is also possible.

The wellness facilities include an indoor heated pool (with a shallow end and water slide), a hot tub, and a fitness centre. The pool and hot tub area is open year-round; towels are provided at the front desk or pool area. The fitness centre is equipped with free weights and cardio machines. Note that the pool has occasionally been closed for maintenance, so checking ahead is recommended. The hot tub jets have been described as low-pressure at times.

Free WiFi is available throughout the property. Free private parking is on-site with no reservation needed; long-term parking (e.g., for trips) costs $10 per night. The free airport shuttle operates 24/7 and is bookable at check-in for departures; for arrivals, take a taxi and the hotel covers the fare. The 24-hour front desk can assist with luggage storage, early check-in requests, and laundry services (paid). A business centre with computers and printing is open around the clock. Vending machines for drinks and snacks are on-site. No pets are allowed. Payment can be made with major credit cards or cash at checkout (but a card is required for check-in deposit).
