HOSTAL DELFINA, Madrid

The hostal sits directly on Madrid's main thoroughfare, Gran Vía, with the Gran Via Metro Station at the doorstep - making it a base for effortless city exploration. Retiro Park, the Prado Museum and Thyssen Museum are each a 10-minute walk away, and Puerta del Sol is the same distance. A wide range of shops, tapas bars, Spanish restaurants and lively nightlife are concentrated around the street. Madrid Airport is reachable in about 20 minutes by car or metro. Despite the central bustle, the building's soundproofing keeps rooms quiet.

Rooms at Hostal Delfina are all exterior, many overlooking Gran Vía with large, soundproofed windows to ensure quiet sleep despite the location. Each room includes air conditioning and heating, a seating area, flat-screen TV, wardrobe, sofa and parquet floors. The private bathrooms have been fully refurbished and come with a bathtub, hairdryer and free toiletries. Double and triple configurations are available, all with ample space, and some rooms offer a balcony. The hostal is situated on the fourth floor of a historic building with lift access. The overall feel is clean, comfortable and cosy - practical for city-break guests who prioritise location and comfort.

The hostal provides free Wi-Fi in all rooms and common areas. Services include daily housekeeping (free of charge), luggage storage (great for early arrivals or late departures), a tour desk and private check-in/check-out. All rooms are non-smoking. Parking is not available, so using public transport is recommended. There is no lift? but access is via the building's lift to the fourth floor. Pets are not permitted. The hostal's small, family-run nature means a personal, attentive service from the owner.
