HOSTAL GRECO GRAN VIA MADRID, Madrid

The hostal sits directly on Gran Vía, Madrid's main shopping and entertainment artery, putting the Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor, and the Thyssen-Bornemisza and Reina Sofía museums within easy walking distance. Gran Vía Metro Station is a 2-minute walk, linking you to the rest of the city and the airport via Metro. The surrounding streets are packed with cafés, tapas bars, shops, and terraces. This is a bustling, lively area day and night, ideal for walkers and those wanting to be at the centre of the action.

All rooms include a private bathroom (some compact), air conditioning, heating, a flat-screen TV, and a balcony - some balconies overlook the busy Gran Vía. The furniture and decor are older, with parquet floors and a classic guesthouse feel. Street-facing rooms are naturally noisier; interior-facing rooms are quieter but may have less natural light. Bedding and towels are older and may show signs of wear, though housekeeping is daily. Rooms range from compact to spacious, with some offering a mini-fridge.

No on-site dining is available. The Gran Vía and Fuencarral area offer dozens of nearby places for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, from coffee-and-pastry spots to full restaurants - all within a 2-3 minute walk.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms and common areas. Daily housekeeping keeps rooms tidy. The 24-hour reception can hold luggage before check-in or after check-out, and can also arrange airport or taxi transfers. A safety deposit box is available for a small charge. CCTV covers common areas. The building has a lift to the second-floor hostal.
