HOSTAL SARDINERO, Madrid

The hostal is a short walk from Puerta del Sol (7 minutes) and the Prado Museum and Thyssen Gallery, making it ideal for sightseeing on foot. Plaza de Santa Ana is steps away, surrounded by shops, restaurants, bars, and monuments. The area is lively but the street itself is relatively calm at night, though noise from other rooms can be an issue. Metro Sol station (about 250 m) provides connections across Madrid. No airport shuttle or parking is available, so arriving by metro or taxi is recommended.

All rooms include a private bathroom with shower and hairdryer, heating, and air conditioning (€5/day extra). Some rooms have a balcony, often with street views, while interior windowless rooms exist and are less suitable for longer stays. Rooms have parquet floors, wardrobe, and a TV. Beds are comfortable with good pillows, but some rooms have very small bathrooms and limited storage. Light sleepers should consider that internal noise from adjacent rooms and the reception area can be heard, and the hostal on the third floor (no lift currently available) means stairs are necessary.

The hostal does not have a restaurant or provide breakfast. A vending machine offering coffee (€1 per cup) and cold drinks is located in the reception area. The surrounding Barrio de las Letras neighbourhood has numerous cafés, bars, and restaurants within a two-minute walk, including Decadente, La Toscana, and Goiko Grill, making it easy to find meals outside the property.
