The hostal is 50 m from Plaza Mayor and about 100 m from Puerta del Sol, placing you in the heart of the city. Major attractions such as the Royal Palace, Gran Vía, the Prado Museum and El Retiro Park are all within a 15-to-20-minute walk. The Sol metro station is less than 5 minutes away on foot, giving direct access to the airport via metro and train. The surrounding streets are packed with tapas bars, restaurants, souvenir shops and the Mercado de San Miguel. The area feels very safe and lively at all hours, though the central location means some street noise, especially on weekend nights. Carrefour Express and Dia supermarkets are just outside the door for basic supplies.

Accommodation ranges from single rooms (with a fan but no air conditioning) to double, twin and triple rooms, all with air conditioning. All rooms have a private bathroom with shower, hairdryer and free toiletries. The rooms are small - some with very compact bathrooms - and the furnishings are old-fashioned but clean. Beds may feel firm or hard, and pillows are thin. The tiled floors, wooden bed frames and French windows give the rooms a traditional Madrid character. Road-facing rooms can be noisy even with the windows closed, and internal courtyard rooms are quieter but may feel darker. Single rooms are interior-facing and naturally cooler. There is no fridge, minibar or safe in the room (a paid safe deposit box is available at reception). Daily housekeeping keeps the rooms clean and fresh-smelling.

There is no restaurant or breakfast service on site. However, the location is surrounded by dining options. Corner Cafe directly next door is a popular choice for a simple breakfast. Other nearby options include Restaurante DCorazon, Los Galayos, and the classic La Mallorquina for pastries. The Mercado de San Miguel is a 2-minute walk away and offers a wide range of Spanish tapas and drinks. For self-catering, Carrefour Express and Dia supermarkets are right outside the building. An electric kettle is available on request but no tea or coffee supplies are provided in the room.
