HOSTAL PACIOS, Madrid

Located on Calle Atocha, this hostal is in the historic and cultural heart of the city. Antón Martín Metro station is 350 metres away, and Atocha AVE Train and Metro stations are a 10-minute walk, giving direct rail connections across the city and airport routes. Major landmarks such as Plaza Mayor (4 minutes), Plaza Santa Ana (100 metres), Madrid Cathedral and the Royal Palace (10 minutes) are all within walking distance. The Prado, Reina Sofía and Thyssen-Bornemisza museums are within 1 km. The surrounding area is lively with numerous bars and restaurants, yet the street itself offers a practical base for exploring on foot.

Rooms are generally small but clean and practical, featuring central heating and a ceiling fan in lieu of air conditioning. Towels and sheets are provided free of charge. All bathrooms are shared - there are no private bathroom options. Some rooms face an interior courtyard and are quieter, while others face the street or are near shared facilities, where noise from plumbing and conversations can be an issue. Rooms are lockable and each has a sink with cold water (hot water is limited in some sinks). There is no TV, no safe and no balcony in the rooms. The accommodation is best suited for short stays or travellers prioritizing location over in-room comfort.

The hostal does not operate a restaurant or offer breakfast. A shared kitchen area provides a microwave and refrigerator for guest use, suitable for preparing simple meals or storing food. The surrounding streets offer a wide range of bars, restaurants and cafés within a few minutes' walk, including traditional Spanish spots and international options. Guests needing a hearty meal before exploring can find plenty of nearby choices, while those on a budget can take advantage of the shared kitchen facilities.

Hostal Pacios does not have a spa, pool, or gym. The hostal's central location, however, places guests within walking distance of the city's main cultural attractions, including museums, theatres and historic squares. The lively neighbourhoods of La Latina and Huertas are nearby, offering a wide selection of bars and nightlife. Guests seeking dedicated wellness facilities should plan to use external venues.
