HOSTEL MYD LA LATINA, Madrid

Located in the La Latina district, the property is within 15 minutes on foot of Puerta del Sol and the main tourist area. Three metro stations - Embajadores, La Latina, and Tirso de Molina - are within a few minutes' walk, providing direct connections across the city. The Rastro Sunday flea market operates right outside the door. Numerous restaurants, bars, and shops are clustered within 0.5 km. The area is walkable for most attractions, but the surrounding streets can feel less secure late at night.

Rooms come in 4, 8, 10, or 12-bed configurations, all with shared bathrooms inside the room (toilet and shower combined). Each bed is fitted with a privacy curtain, a personal reading light, and an electrical socket. Lockers are provided, and padlocks can be rented for a small deposit. The dormitories are compact; larger configurations (8-12 beds) can feel very cramped, especially with luggage. Air conditioning is present in only one of the two buildings; the other building relies on ceiling fans and is often very hot in summer. Windows face the street, and some rooms at ground level must keep them shut for security, limiting ventilation. Road-facing and common area-adjacent beds can experience noise from the street, from automatic sensor lights turning on throughout the night, and from other occupants. Housekeeping cleans bathrooms daily, but the overall room cleanliness can be inconsistent.

Breakfast is served in a common room with a microwave and electric kettle; there is no full kitchen or refrigerator for guest use. The breakfast offering is basic but sufficient for a quick start to the day. A coffee shop and snack bar are available on-site, and several restaurants and bars are within a two-minute walk. The hostel does not have its own restaurant.
