The immediate surroundings include garages and a main road, so the area feels less central. A car or good public transport plan is advisable for exploring the city.

Rooms are basic but practical, equipped with a desk, chair, wardrobe, and a fridge. Some rooms include a fan for summer. Heating is provided. Windows are present but may offer limited ventilation; rooms on the ground floor can be noisier from outside. Shared bathroom facilities are separate for men and women, with showers (no bathtub) and toilets. Cleanliness of shared bathrooms can be inconsistent due to high usage. The property's older construction and thin walls mean that noise from corridors, neighbouring rooms, and external sources (bridge, rail track) is common. Light sleepers should consider earplugs.
