HOTEL CRYSTON, Vienna

The U4 metro station is about 100 metres from the entrance, providing a direct 3-stop ride to the central Karlsplatz and the Opera House, and easy access to both the West and Main railway stations. Tram lines 6 and 18 also stop in front of the hotel, adding further connectivity. The location is convenient for reaching Schönbrunn Palace on foot or in two metro stops. A 24-hour petrol station and a Burger King are adjacent, with several casual dining options and a supermarket within a few minutes' walk. The hotel sits on the busy Gürtel road, so rooms facing the street can be noisy, especially with windows open.

The rooms vary significantly in condition; some have been recently renovated with modern decor, while others retain an older, 1970s-style interior with worn furniture and carpets. The bathroom is private and often large, with a shower (some with a bathtub), though some bathrooms show wear and may have chipped tiles or poor lighting. A notable number of rooms feature a waterbed, which some find comfortable and others too soft. Air conditioning is not standard; most rooms rely on a fan, making summer stays challenging on the road-facing side, where opening the window brings in street noise. Rooms with a courtyard view are quieter. The double bed often consists of two single mattresses pushed together. Heating is generally effective in winter. Some rooms lack adequate power outlets near the bed or a desk lamp. Daily housekeeping is provided.

The breakfast is served from 07:00 to 10:00 and includes a selection of hams, cheeses, bread, pastries, scrambled eggs, and hot drinks. It is generally considered good value for the price by many who have tried it. There is no restaurant, bar (other than a small selection of wine/champagne at an extra charge), or evening meal service on-site. Snacks and drinks are available from the adjacent petrol station and Burger King. Several cafes and restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, including the cafe Caro about 400 metres away, providing additional options for lunch or dinner.

The hotel's primary leisure value is its location. The U4 metro line provides fast access to all major attractions, including Schönbrunn Palace (2 stops), the Belvedere, and the city centre. The adjacent park offers a green space for relaxation. For guests seeking specific wellness amenities, there is no pool, spa, or gym on the property. Some rooms are equipped with a private sauna or jacuzzi, which should be confirmed at the time of booking. The garden and terrace offer outdoor seating.

Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the property, though its strength can vary in some rooms. The 24-hour reception provides express check-in/check-out and private check-in/check-out. Luggage storage is free of charge. Daily housekeeping is included. A shared lounge and TV area is on-site. The lift does not stop on every floor, requiring guests to use stairs for one flight after exiting the lift. Business services (fax/photocopying) are available for an additional charge. The hotel has a safety deposit box at reception. The entrance requires climbing a few steps before reaching the lift.
