HOTEL GRUENWALD, Munich

The hotel sits on the edge of Munich in a clean, green and quiet neighbourhood well-suited for a relaxing walk. Aubing S-Bahn station is roughly a 5 to 10-minute walk, connecting you directly to Munich Central Station and Marienplatz in about 20 minutes. Buses also stop near the hotel (a bus stop is right outside). For those driving, free private parking is available in the courtyard, behind the building and in front. The BERGSON-Kunsthalle is just a 5 to 15-minute walk away, making this a convenient base for event attendees. Two traditional Bavarian pubs (Wirtschaften) are within walking distance for evening dining.

The hotel offers traditionally styled Bavarian rooms that are well-maintained and exceptionally clean. Standard rooms are bright and include a cable TV, telephone, work desk, heating and a private bathroom with a hairdryer. Some rooms have been renovated more recently - these feature modern bathrooms with powerful showers and high water pressure. Rooms facing the courtyard are noticeably quieter. Triple rooms include a separate living area with a large fold-out couch, adding space for families or groups. While rooms are not large, they contain all essential amenities, apart from a coffee machine. Beds are described as comfortable with good mattresses, although single duvets are standard and blackout blinds are not present in all rooms. Daily housekeeping is provided and is included in the stay.

The breakfast buffet is a highlight and is available at an additional 8 EUR per person. The selection includes a variety of breads, bread rolls, cold meats, cheese, fresh fruit cut into bite-sized pieces, and cereals. Hot egg dishes (scrambled eggs, fried eggs) are freshly prepared to order. The buffet is consistently described as fresh, well-stocked, with prompt replenishment. A vending machine with drinks is located on site. For other meals, several restaurants and two traditional Bavarian pubs are within walking distance in the Aubing district.
