The hotel sits on the waterfront in the lively Portuguese Quarter, within walking distance of Elbphilharmonie Hamburg and Miniatur Wunderland (each under 1.5km). The S-Bahn and U-Bahn station is directly across the street, providing seamless connections to Hamburg Airport (S1, 25min), Hamburg Main Station, and Altona. A supermarket (Edeka) with a bakery is opposite the hotel, and numerous Portuguese restaurants and cafés line the surrounding streets. The position is ideal for musical visits, harbour tours, and ferry departures to Helgoland.

Rooms are clean and well-equipped but vary significantly in size. Standard double and single rooms are compact (some as small as 12m2), with limited storage and no bedside tables; a few include a seating area or sofa bed. The suites offer a separate living room and a bathtub. The building has older wooden floors, so noise from footsteps in adjacent rooms and corridors is noticeable, particularly on lower floors. The lift serves the 4th floor only; the 5th floor (where some suites are located) is accessible via stairs. Room 301 (street-facing) has been noted as surprisingly quiet, while rooms with open windows may pick up street noise and ventilation-unit sounds. Carpeted floors and a musty smell have been reported in some rooms.

The hotel's ground-floor restaurant offers Portuguese dishes and is open for dinner Monday to Sunday (from 17:00, weekends from 12:00). The buffet breakfast includes bread, cold cuts, cheese, fruit, yoghurt, cereal, scrambled eggs, and bacon, with fresh egg dishes prepared on request. The breakfast selection on Sundays can be more limited and is not always replenished promptly. Several Portuguese restaurants and a bakery/café are within a one-minute walk, and a supermarket with a bakery is directly opposite the hotel.

The hotel does not have a pool, spa, gym, or similar leisure amenities. The prime location on the Landungsbrücken waterfront provides immediate access to harbour tours, ferry trips, and the Elbphilharmonie. The Portuguese Quarter offers a lively restaurant and café scene, and the Reeperbahn is a 10-minute walk away.

All rooms include air conditioning, soundproof walls, a flat-screen TV with cable channels, an electric kettle, and a minibar. The private bathrooms are fitted with a shower (some with a high step-in) and include a hairdryer, slippers, and free toiletries.
