The hotel sits on Steindamm, directly opposite the rear exit of Hamburg main train station. Hauptbahnhof is under 200 metres away, providing direct S-Bahn links to the airport (24 minutes), Mönckebergstraße shopping street, and major sights like Speicherstadt (1 km), Elbphilharmonie (3 km), and Landungsbrücken (3 km). Restaurants, bars, and everyday shops including Lidl and Edeka are within a two-minute walk. The neighbourhood around the station is very busy, with a visible street scene that continues late into the night; the side streets of Lange Reihe offer a quieter alternative with more cafes. Public parking is available in the Baumeisterstrasse garage.

Room sizes range from 19 m2 Economy and shared-bathroom rooms up to 22 m2 Family rooms with a double bed, a single bed, and a sofa bed. Standard and Comfort categories include private shower/WC, while the most basic category shares bathroom facilities in the hallway. All rooms have cable TV, desk, free Wi-Fi, safe, and soundproofed windows. Beds are 1.60 x 2.00 m. The building dates from 1910 and last saw major renovation in 2011. Some rooms face the street and can be noisy with the window open; rooms at the rear are quieter. No air conditioning is available, so warmer nights may require open windows. Rooms are on five floors with stairs only. Some smaller room types lack a wardrobe, fridge, or in-room TV.

Breakfast is available every morning from 06:30-10:30 on weekdays and 07:00-11:30 at weekends, at a cost of €14 per person or included in many room rates. The buffet includes bread, jam, butter, cheese, cereal, cold meats, eggs, yoghurt, fruit, coffee, tea, and fruit juice. The buffet layout is spread across the room, so guests should check both sides for items like spreads and juice. No hot dishes are served. There is no restaurant or bar on the property for evening meals, but many dining options - from Block House to Italian and Asian restaurants - are within a 5-minute walk.

Wi-Fi is free throughout the hotel. The 24-hour reception can store luggage after check-out.
