HOTEL HEJTMAN, Prague

The hotel is within a 0.5 km walk of several restaurants and cafés. The closest metro station is Florenc, connecting via buses 133 and 207. A night tram serves a stop very near the hotel, making late returns easy. The area around Vitkov Hill is walkable for the National Monument, and the local cost of eating and drinking is lower than in the old town. The army museum is nearby for a convenient short visit.

Rooms are clean with good beds and furniture that can feel new. Some rooms are large and include a small fridge with affordable minibar prices. Double rooms can be rather cramped in certain cases, while triple rooms are very big. Many bathrooms are huge, sometimes as large as the bedroom, and some have a jacuzzi. Attic/studio rooms have Velux windows, restrict outside views, and tend to be very warm. There is no blackout curtain in many rooms, only a thin curtain, leading to brightness from early morning. Noise from guests on the same floor can carry, especially in rooms near the lift. A small fridge and TV (without English channels) are standard. Some bathrooms show signs of water damage on the ceiling. The room suitable for a business or leisure trip if you prioritise cleanliness and a comfortable bed.

The breakfast buffet includes sunny-side up eggs, sausages, butter, jam, honey, cake, bread, pastries, tea, milk, and coffee. The selection is limited - two kinds of vegetables and no fruit - and the coffee quality could be improved. Bread and yoghurt may not be refreshed daily towards the end of a stay. The spread is restocked frequently during serving hours, so later arrivals can still find food. Pets are not allowed in the dining room. No food is available outside breakfast hours, but the helpful staff can mark good places to eat within a short walk.

The sauna is a facility present at the hotel but only operates outside the winter season. There is no pool, gym, or spa. For leisure, the local area around Žižkov offers affordable bars, restaurants, and interesting shops a short walk from the hotel, and Vitkov Hill with its monument is a nearby landmark for walking.
