The hotel is on a quiet side street in the heart of Rome's historic centre. Piazza del Popolo, the Tiber River, and the Flaminio Metro stop are all within a 2-minute walk. Villa Borghese Park is a 5-minute stroll away. Most major sights - including the Spanish Steps (10 minutes), Trevi Fountain (12 minutes), Piazza Navona, and the Pantheon - are accessible on foot. The Colosseum and Trastevere require a longer walk or a short bus/metro ride. The metro connects directly to Termini station for train and bus links. Numerous restaurants, pizzerias, and cafés are within a few hundred metres, making the location both convenient for sightseeing and practical for evening meals.

The hotel offers single, double, and triple rooms, all with private bathrooms (shower, bidet, and hairdryer) and air conditioning. Rooms are compact - singles are small but functional, and triple rooms are described as quite small. Some double rooms feature a balcony, but only two such rooms exist. Most rooms have an inner courtyard view, while a few face the street, where some have noted outside noise. The property is older and furnishings can feel dated, though cleanliness is consistently maintained. Room amenities include a flat-screen TV with satellite channels, soundproofing (walls are thin), a safe, and heating. Dressing area and free toiletries are provided. Lighting and ventilation are adequate in most rooms. Beds are a mix of comfort levels - some have found memory foam mattresses too soft or too firm. The lift serves most floors, but access to some rooms may require stairs. Daily housekeeping and towel changes are included at no extra charge.

Hotel Okapi does not have a restaurant. Breakfast is available daily and is an Italian-style buffet with bread, pastries, yoghurt, cereal, processed cheese and ham slices, jam, butter, fresh juice, and hot drinks. While some have found the breakfast adequate and plentiful, others consider it basic and lacking fresh fruit or eggs. The ground-floor lounge offers free coffee, tea, and water 24/7, and guests are welcome to bring in outside food. A fridge is available for guest use. The surrounding streets are full of restaurants, pizzerias, and trattorias within a 0.5 km radius, including Osteria St. Ana, Brillo Restaurant, and Dal Bolognese, offering a wide range of cuisines and price points.

No wellness or leisure facilities are available on site - there is no swimming pool, spa, or fitness centre. Leisure activity centres on exploring the historic centre on foot or using the complimentary maps and tourist information provided at reception. The shared lounge area with sofas and a TV offers a casual space to relax with free tea and coffee. For green space, Villa Borghese Park is a 5-minute walk away.

A paid airport shuttle service can be arranged (55 EUR from Fiumicino Airport). Reception is open from 13:00 to 20:00; after hours, self-check-in uses a code sent the day before.
