DOMUS GETSEMANI, Rome

The location is immediately adjacent to the Vatican Museums (7 minutes on foot), with St. Peter's Square reachable in a 10-15 minute walk. Ottaviano Metro Station (Line A) is about 1 km away, providing a direct 7-stop, 20-minute ride to Termini. The nearest train stations (San Pietro, Valle Aurelia) are around 2 km. The area is residential and generally safe, with several restaurants and bars within a 5-minute walk (e.g., La Fornace, fashion cafe wine bar, Da Lili Bistrot). Fiumicino Airport is 30 km away; a taxi costs around €50 and takes about 40 minutes. Bus 49 stops nearby. Note that the property sits at the top of a hill with a steep staircase (114 steps) from the main pedestrian access point, making it less convenient for those with heavy luggage or limited mobility. A taxi or private car is recommended for arrivals with suitcases.

The property offers single, double, twin, triple, and family rooms. All rooms include air conditioning and heating. Private bathrooms have either a bath or shower (some showers are very small-50x50 cm-or are open-plan next to the bed). Rooms facing Viale Vaticano are significantly affected by traffic noise throughout the night, while courtyard-facing rooms are much quieter. Room sizes are generally small, and some are described as outdated or in need of refurbishment. Beds are reported as narrow (90 cm in singles) and the mattresses can be firm with noticeable springs. Floors are marble, which amplifies footstep noise. A kettle is available on the breakfast table, not in the room. An iron is available on request. No in-room fridge, but a shared fridge is available in the common area. Some rooms have a balcony with garden or neighbourhood views. The property's newer rooms are rated higher for cleanliness and comfort.

Wi-Fi is free in public areas (lobby, breakfast room); it can be weak or non-functional on higher floors. A lift serves most floors. Luggage storage is available free of charge before check-in or after check-out-simply leave your bags and return later. Private parking on site costs €15 per day and must be reserved in advance; public street parking is also available. Express check-in/out is offered. The property has 24-hour security with key-card access. There is a shared lounge/TV area. Vending machines for drinks and snacks are on site. Meeting/banquet facilities and fax/photocopying are available for an additional charge. Baby safety gates are available for families. Cleaning is not automatic; towels cost €7 to replace.
