Located in Kissimmee near Lake Buena Vista, the hotel is 8 km from Walt Disney World and about 15 minutes from Universal Studios and SeaWorld. Multiple restaurants (IHOP, TGI Fridays, Popeyes, etc.) are within 0.5 km on foot. Lake Buena Vista Factory Stores is a 5-minute drive. The area has a helicopter tour launchpad nearby, so expect some aircraft noise during the day. The hotel entrance can be difficult to spot due to construction; use GPS and look for the Howard Johnson sign. Free parking is available on site.

Rooms are spacious and many have been updated with modern furnishings, flat-screen TVs, microwaves, mini-fridges, and coffee makers. Private bathrooms include a tub/shower and hairdryer. Beds and pillows are comfortable. However, some rooms have reported poor water pressure, noisy air conditioners, and occasional pest sightings (roaches, ants). Thin walls can allow noise from neighboring rooms and outside. Security door latches may be broken; check upon arrival. The property is non-smoking, but limited smoking rooms are available. No balconies. Some rooms have connecting doors, which can increase noise.

A complimentary breakfast is served daily from 7 to 10 am, offering hot items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes, self-serve waffles, cold cereal, bread, yogurt, coffee, and juice. The breakfast room is small (approximately eight tables for a hotel with over 200 rooms), so it can become extremely busy, especially between 8 and 9 am. Late arrivals may find that certain items have run out and replenishment can be slow. There is no on-site restaurant or bar, but several casual dining chains are within a short walk.

The hotel's outdoor swimming pool is currently closed for renovation. Front desk staff can arrange access to a pool at a sister property located a block away. There is no fitness center, spa, or other leisure facilities on the premises. The pool area is expected to reopen after renovations are complete.
