There is a gas station adjacent and a few restaurants within walking distance including a Waffle House and an IHOP. The immediate area around the hotel has a high number of homeless individuals, and the adjacent transient motel contributes to an environment that feels unsafe to many. Security is on site at night, but the parking lot and sidewalks are openly accessible. For those driving, free on-site parking with no reservation is a practical advantage, but those arriving after dark or travelling alone should be aware of the neighbourhood conditions. The highway is close, but rooms facing away from it offer a quieter experience.

The rooms at Hyatt Place Tucson Central are generally spacious and clean, with separate sitting areas and comfortable beds.
