IL GHIRO GUEST HOUSE, Florence

This central position puts everything within easy walking distance: the Duomo, Accademia Gallery, and the main shopping streets are all about 5-10 minutes away. The San Lorenzo Market is a few minutes' walk, offering fresh food and local specialties. The area around the property is lively with numerous restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets, yet the street itself remains relatively quiet at night. The tram stop for Florence Airport is a short walk away, and the train station provides connections across the region. No car is needed here.

Rooms are decorated in a straightforward style and are equipped with air conditioning, heating, and free toiletries. Private bathrooms are available in some rooms, while others share a well-maintained communal bathroom. Triple rooms come with a private bathroom inside the room. Some rooms have a view over a quiet courtyard or onto the street. There are no rooms with a balcony. The property has no lift, so rooms are accessed via stairs; light sleepers may prefer to request a room facing the courtyard to avoid street noise. The accommodation is best suited to travellers who prioritise location and cleanliness over luxury.

The shared kitchen includes a fridge, stove, and utensils for self-catering, and a washing machine is available for guest use. A free coffee pod and tea-making facilities are offered each morning. There is no breakfast service, so guests either prepare their own meals in the kitchen or eat at the many restaurants just steps away. The San Lorenzo Market is nearby for fresh ingredients. At least eight restaurants are within a 5-minute walk, offering a wide variety of local and international options.

The property does not include a spa, swimming pool, or gym. Leisure options are centred on the city: all major Florence attractions-museums, galleries, parks, and shopping-are within a short walk. The central location makes it easy to return to the guest house between sightseeing stops.

Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the building. Daily housekeeping is included at no extra cost. Luggage storage is free and can be used before check-in and after check-out. A washing machine is available in the common area for free use between 9:00 and 17:00. The shared kitchen is well-stocked and includes a fridge and freezer for personal food. Car hire can be arranged, and the staff provide maps, museum tickets, and tour reservations. No airport shuttle is available, but the tram is a short walk away. Accepted payment methods include American Express, Visa, Maestro, and MasterCard. The building is secured with key access and fire extinguishers.
