Il Giglio Rosso is ideally placed for train and tram travel. The Belfiore tram stop is a few steps away, offering direct service to Florence Airport and the city center for €1.70 per ride. Santa Maria Novella Station is about 10 minutes on foot, connecting to high-speed and regional trains. The main sights-the Duomo, Uffizi Gallery, and Galileo Museum-are all within a 20-30 minute walk. For dining, several restaurants and cafes are within a 5-minute walk, including Emin Group Kebab, Haveli Indian Restaurant, and Pasticceria Excalibur. The area has good walkability for sightseeing, though the street can be busy, especially at night.

Accommodation includes single, double, and triple rooms, all with a private bathroom (shower, toiletries, and hairdryer). Room sizes vary from compact to spacious, with some offering more floor space. The soundproofed windows help reduce external noise, but trams can still be heard in street-facing rooms. Air conditioning and heating are available; the AC is quiet. Rooms come with a flat-screen TV (not smart TV), electric kettle, and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms have a safe, but this cannot be guaranteed at booking. No rooms have a balcony. The building has a lift (elevator) serving the first, second, and third floors.

Il Giglio Rosso does not have its own restaurant or bar. Breakfast is an optional add-on (€10 per person) and is delivered to the room each morning. The breakfast style is a small, sweet Italian-style selection, with continental options that can be customized upon request (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free). The shared kitchen on the upper floor is available for guest use, equipped with basic cookware and a kettle, but should be used quietly, especially at night. For lunch and dinner, staff are happy to recommend nearby restaurants; a variety of cuisines (Indian, Italian, pizza, kebab) are within a 5-minute walk. Halal-friendly dining is also nearby.

The property does not feature a spa, wellness center, swimming pool, or dedicated fitness area. The shared kitchen and common-area terrace are the primary leisure spaces available to guests. For recreation, all major Florence attractions-Uffizi Gallery, Galileo Museum, the Duomo, and the historic center-are within a 20-40 minute walk or a short tram ride.

Wi-Fi is free in all areas and is generally reliable for remote work (video calls and streaming tested). Luggage storage is offered free of charge, allowing early arrivals or late departures to explore without bags. The reception is not staffed around the clock, but self-check-in by access codes is smooth after office hours.
