The hostel sits at the heart of the Schanzenviertel, a vibrant neighbourhood packed with bars, cafés, restaurants, and independent shops. The nearest train station is Sternschanze, about 10 minutes on foot, providing direct S-Bahn connections to Hamburg Central Station (2 stops) and the airport. Bus route 15 also stops nearby. The Reeperbahn entertainment district and CCH Congress Centre are a 15-minute walk, while the Volksparkstadion is reachable by shuttle on event days. The area is lively at night, with street noise audible from rooms overlooking the street.

Accommodation ranges from double rooms to multi-bed dormitories, including female-only and mixed-gender options. Beds have bedside lights, power sockets, and a shelf. Each room includes lockers; bring your own padlock. Rooms are compact, and those on the street side can be noisy at night. Triple bunk beds are used in some dormitories; top bunks require climbing. Heating is provided, but air conditioning is not available, so rooms may be warm with windows open for ventilation. Sound insulation is minimal. Room cleaning is not included; bedding is provided but must be put on by the guest.

The hostel does not serve breakfast or operate a restaurant. Instead, the shared kitchen is fully equipped with cookware, utensils, a stove, and a fridge for guest use. Unlimited free coffee and tea are available all day. The bar in the common area offers paid drinks including beer and soft drinks. The surrounding Schanzenviertel has numerous supermarkets (Lidl within 5 minutes) and a wide variety of affordable restaurants, bakeries, and cafés.

The hostel provides a range of social leisure options: a table football table, a billiards table (pay per game), and board games. The common lounge is spacious and has a TV area. A sun terrace is available for relaxation. The hostel occasionally hosts open mic nights and live music events. A meditation room is also mentioned as a quiet space.
