HOTEL CONTINENTAL HAMBURG HAUPTBAHNHOF, Hamburg

The hotel sits directly across from the main train station, making it ideal for train travelers and those using public transport. The airport is reachable via the S1 line without changing trains. The vibrant Lange Reihe street, with its many cafés and restaurants, is a 5-minute walk away, and the Deutsches Schauspielhaus Theatre is just a minute's walk from the door. The central bus station (ZOB) is also within a few minutes' walk, adding to the connectivity. The immediate area around the station can feel lively, particularly late at night. For guests arriving by car, no on-site parking is available, but a public parking garage (Parkhaus Am Hauptbahnhof) is located 200 meters from the hotel.

Breakfast offers a standard continental selection with bread, pastries, cold meats, cheese, boiled eggs, fruit, and hot drinks. While variety is adequate for a short stay, options are basic and do not include hot cooked items like bacon or scrambled eggs. The breakfast room is comfortable with wall paintings and hanging lights, though some find the atmosphere dark. For other meals, the hotel does not have a restaurant or bar, but the surrounding area offers numerous dining choices within a short walk, including Asian, German, and fast-food options on Lange Reihe and around the station.

Leisure facilities are not available on site. However, the central location provides easy access to city attractions, shopping streets, and the harbour area, either on foot or via public transport.

The hotel offers free Wi-Fi throughout the building and a safety deposit box in each room. The 24-hour reception can assist with late check-in, luggage storage (available at no charge before check-in and after check-out), and packed lunches. Daily housekeeping is provided, but some guests report that room servicing may occur early in the morning. A vending machine for drinks is available. Business services such as fax and photocopying are offered for an additional charge. The hotel is fully non-smoking and has a lift, though one of the two elevators is often out of service.
