The hostel sits in the heart of Mission Beach, with the sand and surf less than a minute away on foot. Belmont Park and its rides are directly across the street, and numerous restaurants, souvenir shops, and a Starbucks are within a 2-minute walk. San Diego International Airport is about 7 km (a 20-minute drive), and the Old Town Amtrak station is the nearest rail connection. Public transit buses stop right outside, providing easy access to downtown, La Jolla, and other neighborhoods. Free street parking is available but limited; a free 24/7 parking lot at Bonita Cove (across from Belmont Park) is a practical option, along with a 48-hour free lot a 5-minute walk away. For driving guests, watch for street-sweeping signs to avoid tickets.

Dorm beds are fitted with comfortable foam mattresses, privacy curtains, storage lockers underneath, and a bedside tray. Each bed has a personal reading light and electrical plug. Linens are provided, and towel rental is available. Private rooms include a mini fridge, TV, workspace, and some have a private sink. All accommodations share communal bathrooms and showers; no ensuite bathrooms exist. Some rooms facing the street may experience traffic noise. While the hostel is generally peaceful, the common areas and kitchen can feel tight when full. Female-only dorms are available for those preferring a single-gender setting. Heating is provided in all rooms, and air conditioning is available in some dorm rooms.

Each morning, the hostel provides pancake mix, eggs, bananas, chocolate chips, and coffee for a self-service breakfast. The communal kitchen is fully equipped for guests to prepare their own meals and store food in labeled fridge and cupboard spaces. Beyond the hostel, a wide variety of restaurants, taco shops, BBQ spots, and grocery options are within a few minutes' walk on Mission Boulevard. The hostel also organizes weekly taco nights, BBQs, and karaoke evenings, where food is often provided.

The hostel organizes a range of free events that make it easy to connect with other travelers. Regularly scheduled activities include Saturday BBQs, Thursday beach bonfires, Wednesday karaoke, and movie nights. A games room with board games, a shared lounge, and a TV area are available for relaxation. For a more active night out, the team often takes interested guests to a sister hostel up the beach with a fire pit and party atmosphere. No surf lessons or rentals are offered on-site, but discounted lessons can be arranged through a local partner surf school.

Wi-Fi is available free of charge in the public areas and is generally reliable. The hostel provides a shared kitchen, a lounge area, and a communal dining space. Coin-operated laundry machines are on-site. The entrance to the hostel and each room are secured by a code, and CCTV covers both common areas and the exterior. Large luggage cannot be stored, but standard luggage can be left after checkout for limited hours; using the showers after checkout is also possible. The reception team is known for being highly attentive, organizing daily tours and activities. Pets are not allowed, except for service animals, which require a private room booking.
