JO&JOE VIENNA, Vienna

Accommodation includes private double, twin, triple, family, and quad rooms, as well as shared dorms (6, 10, or 12 beds). Each bed has a privacy curtain, a reading light, USB/power sockets, and a large under-bed storage drawer (bring your own padlock). Private bathrooms have a shower, and some rooms have separate dry/wet zones. Concrete floors and industrial-style furnishings can make rooms echo and feel less cosy. The lack of drawers, chairs, or tables beyond the bed is a frequent practical issue - plan to live out of your luggage. Rooms can be noisy from hallway and outside events; light sleepers should request a quiet-facing room.

JO&JOE's Restaurant offers breakfast (€8), lunch, and dinner with vegetarian and vegan options. JO&JOE's Rooftop serves lunch and dinner with views, but may close for private events. The bar has a snack menu, and there is a coffee shop on site. Breakfast is a continental buffet with cheese, juice, and pastries - functional rather than lavish. The shared kitchen on the 6th floor has a microwave, fridge, and water boiler but no cooker. The attached IKEA building offers an affordable restaurant ideal for budget meals.

Free evening entertainment includes karaoke, live music, movie nights, stand-up comedy, and DJ nights - many events are free but can be loud and turn the hostel into a social hub until late. The rooftop bar and terrace offer panoramic views and are a highlight for socializing. Paid activities include billiards, happy hour, and cultural tours. The common areas are spacious with board games, a lounge, and a picnic area. Those seeking a quiet night should check the event schedule before booking.

The 24-hour reception handles late check-ins efficiently. Free luggage storage is available in a room accessible with a key, but it is not monitored and items are left at your own risk; paid lockers are an alternative (€1.50/hour or €6 for a day locker). A washing machine and dryer cost €9 (including detergent). The hostel is wheelchair accessible with lowered sinks, raised toilets, grab rails, and Braille signage. Business facilities (meeting rooms) are available for an additional charge. No pets are allowed, and the hotel does not provide free towels in dorms.
