JUST SLEEP HOSTEL EDINBURGH, Edinburgh

The hostel is situated in a quiet residential area of Edinburgh, a 15-20 minute bus ride from the city centre and a similar distance from the coast, making it suitable for exploring either direction. The number 11 bus stops nearby and takes about 15 minutes to reach the centre. Balfour Street tram stop is also within walking distance. Royal Yacht Britannia and Edinburgh Playhouse are 2 km away, and Edinburgh Waverley station is accessible by bus. The immediate area has several dining options within 0.5-1 km, including Bonnington, Yo Yo's, and Spitaki Greek Taverna. On-street parking is available, and on-site parking is an option for a fee. The location is less suited for walking with heavy luggage or for late-night returns on foot.

The hostel offers private family rooms, which come with a private bathroom, a washing machine, a private entrance, and a view of an inner courtyard or quiet street. These rooms include a tea and coffee maker, a sitting area, and a dining table. The dormitory rooms feature triple bunk beds and are compact, with space limited primarily to the beds themselves. Lower and middle bunks are low to the floor and do not allow sitting up; a top bunk is preferable for sitting. There is no dedicated storage space inside the dorms for luggage. Lockers are available in the corridor but are small, fitting a daypack or 15-inch laptop. Air conditioning is not present; windows are sometimes opened for ventilation, which can make the rooms feel stuffy. Noise from the corridor and street can be audible.

The hostel provides a fully equipped shared kitchen with a stovetop, refrigerator, oven, microwave, and utensils, allowing guests to prepare their own meals. Free cereal, milk, and eggs are occasionally available as a snack. There is no on-site restaurant or bar, but a coffee house and snack bar are present. A vending machine for drinks and snacks is also available. Cooking facilities in the shared kitchen are turned off at 10 pm and may not be turned back on until late the following morning, which affects those wanting late or early cooking. Several restaurants are located within a 0.5-1 km radius, including Bonnington, Yo Yo's, and La Favorita Pizzeria.

Free Wi-Fi is available in all rooms. Luggage storage is available before check-in and after check-out at no charge. Express check-in/out is provided, and the hostel uses a code-based door system for entry without physical keys. A shared kitchen, laundry service (additional charge), and grocery delivery (additional charge) are available. Bicycle rental is free. The property has 24-hour security with CCTV and smoke alarms. On-site parking is possible for £5 per night and must be reserved in advance, but free street parking is also an option. No pets are allowed. The property is step-free with no stairs. Staff are generally helpful, but the reception is not always staffed, and communication is primarily via email and text with entry codes.
