MAYFAIR GUEST HOUSE, Edinburgh

Edinburgh city centre is within easy reach on foot (roughly 20-30 minutes) or via the tram and bus stops directly outside the property. Edinburgh Playhouse and Edinburgh Castle are a short walk away. The area is quiet and residential but offers a good selection of restaurants and cafés nearby (within 0.5 km). Edinburgh Airport is 12 km away, reachable by tram in about 30 minutes. The walk from the bus or train station can be challenging with heavy luggage, so using the nearby tram or bus is recommended for arrival.

Accommodation is available in double, triple, and family rooms. Each room is well-sized and includes a wardrobe, carpeted flooring, heating, and tea and coffee-making facilities. Some rooms have large windows overlooking the garden. The lack of a TV and minimal storage means the focus is on practical sleeping and resting. Rooms are accessed via a common hallway. The shared bathroom on each floor serves 3-4 rooms and includes a shower over the bath. Periodic cleaning reports are noted, and the condition of fixtures and furnishings can vary.

Internet is free and accessible in rooms. Paid public street parking is available nearby at £3.10 per hour, with no reservation needed. The property is a 3-storey building with no lift. Luggage storage is possible at the property before check-in if arranged. Staff speak English and are present at reception. The property is non-smoking throughout and does not allow pets. Safety features include smoke alarms, fire extinguishers, and key access.

This guest house does not serve breakfast or operate a restaurant. Each room is equipped with an electric kettle, tea bags, instant coffee, sugar, and milk/creamers. A number of cafés and restaurants are located within a 5-minute walk, including options for breakfast. There is no guest kitchen or dining area. Guests should plan meals at nearby eateries.
