KIKALA WATERFALL LODGE, Hilo

The lodge is situated close to Hilo town (9 km from the Pacific Tsunami Museum, 10 km from Lyman Museum, 11 km from Rainbow Falls, and 13 km from Hilo International Airport), yet feels secluded within a lush tropical setting. The property features a private waterfall and swimming hole just a 75-yard walk from the cabins. Having a car is essential for getting to and from the lodge, as there is no nearby public transport and cell service can be unreliable. Free on-site parking is available with reservation.

The property includes three independent cabins and one cottage guest house. The cottage with the waterfall view has its own private bathroom and kitchen. The cabins are private but share two bathrooms and a fully equipped kitchen in a main common building. Some cabins feature a loft with a second bed, and each has a patio or outdoor furniture. Rooms do not have heating, and the property is open to the elements, so nights can be cool. Cabins generally have basic amenities such as a bed and a small desk; noise from frogs at night is typical. The lodge features an outdoor swimming pool with a view and a shallow end, open all year. Additionally, a natural private waterfall and swimming hole on the property provide a unique swimming and relaxation experience. The grounds include a lush garden and outdoor seating areas, ideal for enjoying the serene surroundings. Gardens are well-maintained and host local wildlife, including goats.
