LION SQUARE LODGE, Vail

The lodge occupies the most coveted location in Vail: directly at the ski yard next to the Eagle Bahn Gondola, with true ski-in/ski-out access. Lionshead Village is a pedestrian-only Bavarian-style area with restaurants, shopping, a general store, and the Gore Creek trail within a 100-yard walk. The free parking lot sits behind the lodge, and the property offers a shuttle for getting around Vail. A path along the river provides easy access for walking and biking to Vail Pass.

Units range from studios for 4 guests to spacious 3-bedroom condos sleeping up to 10. All include private bathrooms, heating, flat-screen TVs, in-room safes, and tea/coffee facilities. Condo units add full kitchens with cookware and dining tables, plus shared laundry. The South Building rooms are closer to the gondola and offer mountain-facing views; North Building rooms are also within a short walk. Suites with two bathrooms and Murphy beds are ideal for families.

Currently, El Sabor offers a full-service restaurant with a slopeside atmosphere. Complimentary coffee is available in the lobby each morning, and warm cookies are served daily from 3-4 PM. A wine bottle welcome gift is a common touch upon arrival. For larger groups, Colorado Mountain Events provides full-service catering for events. New dining venues are scheduled to debut in November 2025, expanding the on-site food options.

The outdoor heated pool remains open year-round, while three hot tubs offer warm soaking with slopeside views. A sauna and a fitness centre with state-of-the-art cardio and free weights add to the wellness offerings. The on-site Charter Sports shop rents skis, snowboards, and snowshoes, and the complimentary ski valet stores equipment safely. Fishing, hiking, horse riding, and skiing are all accessible directly from the property.

Free parking is available off-site with no reservation needed, and the lodge provides complimentary Wi-Fi throughout. A 24-hour front desk and concierge team offer assistance, while a bellman helps with luggage. Additional services include an ATM on site, babysitting, grocery deliveries, and a business centre. The property is fully non-smoking and has a lift. Changing rooms are available for use before check-in and after check-out.
