The metro (line A) is a 10-minute walk and connects directly to Termini station and Spanish Steps. Bus 46/49 stops just outside the gate and reaches Piazza Venezia and central attractions in 15-20 minutes. The walk back from the Vatican is uphill; the bus is a practical alternative. The immediate area has a small supermarket, a café, and a bar. More varied dining options can be found near St. Peter's, a short ride away.
